President Bush Signed The Adam Walsh Child Protection And Safety Act Of 2006

Today President George W. Bush signed the Adam Walsh Child Protection and Safety Act.
This law is to help strengthen federal laws and protect children from sexual predators and violent crimes.
Mr. Walsh refered to this act as the "S.W.A.T. team for kids".
The many people that were there to hear President Bush's speech were among the parents and families that have had a child abducted, sexually assaulted or a child or family member a victim of a violent crime.
The Protect Act is to help expand the Amber Alerts to all 50 states for quicker alerts to the public about missing and exploited children from law enforcement.
Operation Predator was also launched to track down and arrest pedophiles from foreign countries, sex tourists, internet pornographers and human traffickers who prey on children.
Project Safe Childhood helps state, local and federal law enforcement to help investigate and prosecute crimes against children using the internet and other electronic communications against.
The National Sex Offender Registry will be expanded so that all law enforcement in each state will have access to information from other states about registered sex offenders.
The National Child Abuse Registry was created for investigators to do background checks on adopting and foster parents before they can take custody of a child. This bill was put into to act to help children from being abused and neglected.
